Ms. Hutchinson began her teaching career after graduating from the University of Arkansas with a degree in Elementary Education. (GO HOGS!) She then became the Director of the American School in Garoua Boulai, Cameroon. Her career in teaching has also taken her to Ashdown, Arkansas, and High Point, North Carolina. She taught at Kingswood Elementary in Cary before attending the University of Virginia in Charlottesville, where she earned a Masters in Curriculum and Instruction. She then returned to Wake County to work at Wildwood Forest Elementary as the Instructional Resource Teacher and interning at Millbrook Elementary Magnet. She completed her Add-on Licensure in School Administration from the University of North Carolina- Chapel Hill. She then worked at East Millbrook Magnet Middle School as the sixth grade assistant principal before moving to Joyner. With many years in education, Mrs. Hutchinson excitedly leads incredible educators and enjoys working with the students, staff and families.

Ms. Hutchinson is proudly married to a middle school teacher and has two wonderful children of her own. In her free time, she loves playing outdoors with her family and traveling. She loves introducing her children to the world and building that global community starting at home. Her children continue to teach her on a daily basis as well.
